You may see out of balances (OOB) in your reconciliation due to security mapping issues. If a security mapping was manually changed or a security from your custodian has a different identifier (CUSIP/Ticker) than is used within the Morningstar Office account, this can cause reconciliation issues. The two OOBs will have the same Name/Ticker/CUSIP and Position Type.
Schwab Users: Your custodian may be using an internal ticker that does not match the mainstream ticker. These tickers usually end in 1z. You may see an OOB for both the internal ticker and the mainstream ticker. Depending on if you want to use the internal or mainstream ticker will designate what action needs to be taken.
