The Client Web Portal is a secure Web site where your clients can view aggregated investment information and retrieve Morningstar Office reports and uploaded content. If you have uploaded a logo to appear on report cover pages, it will be displayed on your Web Portal page, along with your firm name.
Please be sure this is the correct e-mail address for the client before you click Submit. You will not be able to change this e-mail address once you submit it. If you mistakenly submit the wrong e-mail address, disable that e-mail address and contact Customer Support to reset the login.
The link for the Client Web Portal login page is fp.morningstar.com.
Data for the Client Web Portal is securely transmitted using 128-bit encryption.
To grant a client access to the Client Web Portal, do the following:
Enable the Web Portal by clicking the Enabled radio button.
In the Client E-mail Address field, enter the client's e-mail address.
In the Confirm Client E-mail Address field, re-type the client's e-mail address.
The client is required to set their own password and must adhere to the guidelines as specified under the Password Security section.
If your client sets a weak Web Portal password, they will receive a notification to change it. The minimum standards for a password are:
8 or more characters long containing
no more than 2 identical characters in a row, and
at least 3 of the following conditions
1 lower case letter (a-z)
1 upper case letter (A-Z)
1 special character (e.g., ?, $, %, !, @, #, etc.)
1 number (1-9)
To send notifications to other e-mail addresses, enter addresses separated by commas in the E-mail Addresses field. You must re-enter the addresses in the Confirm E-Mail Addresses field.
To disable a client's access to the Client Web Portal, do the following:
Click the Disable radio button.
A dialog box appears, asking if you are sure want to disable the client's access. Click OK.
Once the Web Portal is set up, you can reset the client’s Web Portal password by clicking the Reset Password button. This will automatically send the client an e-mail with a link to an interface where the password can be reset.
Note: Once you
have submitted an e-mail address for the client, the client will receive
an e-mail with a link to the Client Web Portal.
You cannot change the e-mail address once it is submitted. If you
mistakenly submit the wrong e-mail address, you should immediately click
the Disable button to disable access, remove any reports from the Client
Web Portal for that Client, and contact Customer Support to reset the
login for that Client.
Once you establish an e-mail address for your client, you can disable and
re-enable their access to the web portal, but if your client wants to
change their Portal login in the future, they will need to change their
own e-mail address by clicking the Update Profile button within the Client
Web Portal.
