Handling Ticker/CUSIP Changes

When a security changes its ticker/CUSIP you may see out of balances (OOB) in the Failed import blotter. These OOBs can be corrected using our Replace Holding tool.

How to fix OOB caused by Ticker/CUSIP changes

  1. Once you’ve verified that this is a ticker/CUSIP change, select the two OOBs for one account.

  2. Click on Action, Replace Holding. In the Replace Holding dialog box, the system will select by default the security that the custodian shows a position in.

  3. If you have this holding in more than one account, you can choose the Apply holding replacement for all accounts in Reconciliation Blotter for this source/target pair option.

  4. You’ll also want to copy the Imported Prices from the source security to the target security. You can do this by checking the box in the ‘Security Price Option’ field.

  5. Another dialog box will pop-up detailing the price move. Click OK to this dialog box.

  6. Click Replace Holding on the first dialog box and Yes to the message asking if you’d like to re-reconcile.

  7. You should no longer have OOB for those holdings.
